I have always had trouble with mechanics as a younger woman and never felt comfortable bringing my car in on my own. Too often, I've felt patronized or talked down to, as if I didn't know anything about my own car. The people at Beetle Spa have been the complete opposite. They are friendly, respectful, professional, and genuinely easy to talk to. They've never made me feel uncomfortable or dismissed, and they've always taken the time to explain things clearly. Every time I've brought one of my cars in, they've provided great advice, kept me updated throughout the process, and communicated just the right amount so I always knew what was happening. I've never had any issues with their work and have always had a positive experience. I've trusted them with my previous car, my current car, and my partner's car, and I'll continue bringing our vehicles here. I've recommended Beetle Spa to my friends and family, and I'll keep doing so. Excellent communication, outstanding customer service, and quality workmanship. I couldn't recommend them more.

Updated: Rod is a Godsend! I had an emergency where my ‘check engine’ light stayed on. I was concerned about the engine as I hadn’t serviced it in some time. I asked Rod if he could check it out. He mentioned that they were really busy this week but he would do his best to take care of it. His team and he did their magic and the car was rebooted in ONE day! I very recently have travelled over from Vancouver Island and had a very unfortunate radiator/coolant issue with my car. It was unsafe to drive and I had to get my car running again DESPERATELY. I had close family friends recommend Rod at the Beetle Spa and to get it towed to and see if they could at least give me recommendations. I was devastated to have this happen let alone on my first vacation after graduating from university. I was at a loss of where to go especially last minute (before the weekend) and find place that wouldn’t be at dealership prices cause, yikes… Rod SAVED ME. He was able to squeeze my car (which is a different make car) in last minute, look at it, get parts and get it fixed that day. My parents and I are forever grateful and thankful for the work and strings you pulled to get my car back to drivable condition with the circumstances and time given. To Rod and Beetle Spa, thank you for everything.

Out of town emergency- wheel literally broke off infront of shop! Nick and team were extremely helpful and found the issue ( not as thought ) resolved it and it didn't cost a crazy amount.Totally trust the quality of their work by their service ladies! Found that several people i knew have Beetle Spa as their mechanic and raved about them also. Thanks for turning this experience around guys!

First heard of Beetle Spa through a coworker after spending tons of money on several repairs to fix an electrical problem that was never solved . They had my car in the shop within a week and diagnosed the same day . Repairs came in way less than quoted and car is good to go . Communication excellent all the way through the process . Will never take my VW anywhere else again . Highly recommend !

Had a '12 jetta TDI that kept going into limp mode. Every other shop was quoting me a full turbo replacement at $3k+. These guys found the actual issue and fixed it on the cheap (it wasnt even the turbo!), and its been running like a dream since. These guys really are the best at what they do.

Rod and his team were great! They’re just straight to the point. They did what was needed to be done to my partners car in a day (nothing major). Use this mechanic! I could not be happier with my experience at Beetle Spa. I took my 2018 VW Tiguan to Rod and the crew for electrical issues stemming from the alternator. Rod was incredibly communicative, giving me daily updates about how he was sourcing a very difficult and back ordered part, and still managed to find what I needed, get it to Beetle Spa and fix my car within a few days. Prior to taking my car there, I thought I may be without a car for months and a few thousand dollars in the hole. Beetle Spa found me a great solution, did great work quickly, and was very reasonably priced. Great quality and value mechanic run by good people.

Mechanics you can trust. They did my timing belt and water pump in a timely fashion for a great price. Brought my girlfriends jetta in to get an issue fixed and again the service was great. Honest and helpful! Beetle Spa managed to fit in my S5 on short notice for an urgent flashing 'check engine light' issue. The mechanics were unable to diagnose the root cause but ruled out any common causes which meant the issue would require significant repairs and costs. Instead of keeping my car and charging for further diagnosis and repairs, they suggested contacting Audi to see if I still had extended warranty coverage, which I did (I didn't know this was an option). Long story short, my car was in Audi's shop for nearly a month (diagnosis + waiting for parts + repairs) with an uncommon engine issue that would've cost $5k+ in parts alone. Super thankful that the team was honest and suggested going to Audi. Ended up only paying Beetle Spa $250 for their time to diagnose and Audi's $50 deductible.

I've ten questions for you, my reader, please: 1- Who writes long-hand "Thank You" on your invoice after you have paid? 2- Who tells you that they are fully booked for one week, but then kindly asks that you leave the car to have it scanned - at least to know what is going on? 3- Who calls you two times to give you an estimate, and, then, calls again to tell you the car is ready? 4- Who calls you out of the blue to tell you the car can be repaired on the same day, after you were preparing yourself to "hitch-hike" to your work for one week? 5- Who gives you free parking in the very parking-UN-friendly area around Lonsdale in North Vancouver? 6- Who takes you inside the shop and explains to you what is going on following the unexpected repair of your car? 7- Who puts a smile on his face and talks professionally while getting to know you in person? 8- Who opens up early and closes late, and waits for you to come and pick your car (on the same day, remember!)? 9- Who refuses - with pride - that you pay a tip for John and the other gentleman who actually fixed your car? 10- Who treats you for a cold beer in a hot summer, and asks you to have a second one? Ok. I admit. I lied about this beer bit, but actually there is a very nice brewery next to The Bettle Spa. I should have treated this "who" person instead! So to answer all these questions: One person does that; Rod. Rod is the owner of The Beetle Spa! I thought like you that it is only my Volkswagen that will get the "Spa." It turned out that humans, too, get a premium, profound "Spa" called "customer service." One last question to you; my reader: Do you know why I gave Rod five stars above? Well, my reader, sorry, but you should answer that one by now following that long boring discourse of mine above! Rod: You can't but be loved. God bless!

I've been going to the Beetle Spa for a couple years now, without ever leaving a public review. I used to be a DIY kind of guy, but after meeting the team (Rod, John, etc) I have totally given up my aspirations to save a couple bucks on labour because this shop is honest, fair, knowledgeable, and have helped me out with even my half-baked after-market parts installations that I started but couldn't finish. I have never had such a positive experience with a shop, especially in an industry where trust and communication are everything. I now bring in my VW Golf for all the manufacturer's recommended maintenance instead of going back to the dealer. I highly recommend this shop to anyone, no matter how much or how little you know about your own vehicle. A++!!

Came in to get a car we were considering buying looked over. They ended up finding a number of issues and Rod gave us straightforward advice. We ended up not getting the car based off their advice and they didn't charge us. The topper is the fact that while I have a decent bit of knowledge about cars, my friend does not and she was the one buying the car. She was nervous about dealing with mechanics as they tend to ignore her and mansplain etc. Not here. It was very obvious Rod was speaking to her and explained the issues clearly, simplifying when she asked. I'd recommend the Beetle Spa to anyone.

I came to Rod for a pre-sale inspection on an Audi A4. I was coming from Victoria and he was able to accomodate to my schedule. It's honestly the best place ever. They safed us from buying a horrible car in a pre-purchase inspection and helped us finding the right one. So happy to have found this shop. Ron and his staff saved me hundreds of dollars compared to the Audi dealer for a front/rear brake job. Rod and team will fix what needs to be done and let you know about other things that might need looking at further down the line. They a VW specialists but will use their expertise on any vehicle. great shop overall what can i say about Rod and the boys other than they offer fab service, good value, very fair pricing and thus most of all, are trustworthy (how many of you can say that-trustworthy- about an auto mechanic shop?)...I've been dealing with Beetlespa for over 15 yrs now, starting when Rod's dad was in charge. I'd never think of going elsewhere...they service all makes, too, from what I know and have loaner cars (good for me given i'm in vancouver)

These guys are just the best. Great with the German cars obviously, which is what I have, but my dad has taken Ford pickups and SUVs there as well over the years. It's never fun having to put money into repairs, but here you know that it's repairs you actually need and you're getting a fair price. Exceptionally honest service, friendly staff, and a juice bar next door. I'm not sure what else you could want!

Amazing service. Amazing prices. Honest staff. Hard working. Clean (for a automotive place). There aren't a bunch of creepy dudes hanging out lounging around, with 5000000 cigarette butts smushed around the property ... There are hard working, talented, skilled men working here to get your car fixed up. I called and left a message (first time customer) and got a call back in less than 10 minutes. And the man at the front even listened to my message! I was blown away. Great place. Will definitely return. Thankyou. !!!!!!!!!!!! Highly recommend.

I've been going here for about ten years because I get great service for good value and I trust this team. Beetle Spa will tell me I have plenty of life left on my brakes after the local oil chain franchise tries to convince me I need new brakes. When I changed back to a regular suspension and a guy in the shop wanted my sport suspension (which I figured would end up in the recycle bin), they told me he wanted it and gave me $50 for it. These are good signs of a trustworthy shop.
